Community Service Volunteering

One of the key values of our organization is “to share our skills, talents, and abilities to benefit the communities in which we live and work.”  RWHRMA offers several opportunities for members to share their time and expertise, regardless of years in the profession or time available.  Most volunteers find that they gain more than they give.

RWHRMA is warming up for winter!

It is that time of year again—the time to prepare for the cold days of winter. The Coat Drive Team is gearing up to ensure this year’s initiative is a success for our chapter. In each previous year, RWHRMA has exceeded its goal of donating 100 coats, and we want to keep it going! This year RWHRMA will be partnering with The Salvation Army of Wake County to warmly embrace children and adults during the cold season. Their Coat Distribution Program “strives to ensure that every child in Wake County has a coat to keep them warm” and they “also serve adults who need warm clothing during the winter months.”  Donations can be new or gently-used coats, or new scarves, hats, and gloves. The Salvation Army’s program depends on donations to meet this need.

RWHRMA will be collecting winter coats and accessories at upcoming monthly meetings on October 17 and November 14. Donating will be easy—save the date to bring your donation, and place items in the boxes/bins provided by the Coat Drive Team. If you have any questions on donating a coat or organizing a coat collection at your company, please contact Melissa at
